A cum laude graduate of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, Dr. Paumier also holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at St. Elizabeth Medical Center before establishing his private practice in Canton, Ohio, where he has been delivering exceptional dental care since 1988. Beyond his practice, he has served as an educator on the faculty of the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital GPR, helping shape the next generation of dental professionals. As Chairman of the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital Board, Dr. Paumier plays a vital role in clinical education and the advancement of healthcare leadership.

Dr. Paumier is a recognized authority in antibiotic stewardship within dentistry. He has served on expert panels for the American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), co-authoring Clinical Practice Guidelines for Antibiotic Prophylaxis for Prosthetic Joint Patients. His contributions as a co-author of the ADA’s Clinical Practice Guideline for Antibiotic Use in Endodontic Infections highlight his dedication to ensuring safe, evidence-based practices. In recognition of his impact, Dr. Paumier was honored with the ADA’s 2019 Evidence-Based Dentistry Clinical Practice Award.

As a passionate educator and speaker, Dr. Paumier frequently lectures at Case School of Dental Medicine and local, state, regional and national dental conferences.
